Auckland Regional Dental Service:
Free dental care is available for children aged 0 years to Year 8 (Form 2) by the school dental service. Dental care from Year 9 (Form 3) until their 18th birthday (adolescent dental service) is provided by a contracted dental provider. The B4 School Check is a nationwide programme offering a free health and development check for four year olds. The B4 School Check aims to identify and address any health, behavioural, social, or developmental concerns which could affect a child's ability to get the most benefit from school. It includes a check of your child’s: hearing,eyesight, teeth and gums, height, weight, behaviour and development. There is information for parents translated in to 8 other languages, and informations for early childhood education services and teachers. First Aid for Workplaces - A Good Practice Guide has just been launched by the Department of Labour. The guide can help you manage first aid needs in your workplace. www.osh.govt.nz
The guide replaces the Department's previous guidance material on first aid in workplaces. It takes account of recent regulatory changes, including the withdrawal of the Factories and Commercial Premises (First Aid) Regulations 1985.
